GPP Academy – Closing the Loop: Circularity Tour at Mindfield

Have you ever wondered what happens to your coffee grounds after your morning brew?

We uncovered the answer at the first GPP Academy Workshop of the year — Closing the Loop: Circularity Tour at Mindfield, a green enterprise devoted to sustainable living and circular economy practices in Hong Kong.

Since 2024, Swire Properties has partnered with Mindfield to collect and recycle used coffee grounds from our office and F&B tenants across Hong Kong. These collected grounds are then transformed into a high-quality local compost that can be used for landscaping and gardening.

In the interactive workshop, participants:

• Explored the “close-the-loop” concept of turning waste into valuable resources
• Got hands-on with planting using compost made from collected coffee grounds
